If you run a local business in Gilroy, Hollister, Salinas, Monterey, or anywhere on the Central Coast and you're wondering whether investing in a professional website and SEO is actually worth it — here's a real case study with real numbers.

The Starting Point: Zero

When Limo Scene LLC (limoscenellc.com) came to GS46 Tech, they had essentially no web presence. Their Google Search Console showed what you never want to see: zero clicks, zero impressions, no traffic coming from search at all.

Business was coming in through word of mouth and existing relationships — which works until it doesn't. They had no way to reach new customers who were already searching online for exactly what they offered.

What We Did

The approach wasn't complicated, but it required doing all the fundamentals correctly — which most businesses skip or half-implement:

Rebuilt the website from scratch. The old site wasn't getting found. We designed and built a new site optimized for local search from day one — fast load speeds, mobile-first design, clear service pages, and a contact form that actually worked.

Local SEO built into every page. Every page got proper title tags, meta descriptions, and content targeting the searches real customers make. Not generic keywords — specific phrases like "[service] in [city]" that capture people who are ready to hire.

Schema markup (structured data). We added JSON-LD markup telling Google exactly what the business is, where it serves, what it offers, and how to contact them. This helps Google surface the business in the right local searches.

Google Business Profile optimization. For local businesses, the Google Maps listing often drives more traffic than the website itself. We made sure it was complete, accurate, and optimized.

Sitemap submission + Search Console setup. Pages need to be indexed before they can rank. We submitted a sitemap and set up monitoring in Google Search Console so we could track progress and catch any issues.

The Results (One Quarter Later)

When we pulled the Google Search Console data three months after launch, here's what it showed:

  • 4,540 monthly impressions (up from 0)
  • 115 monthly clicks (up from 0)
  • 2.5% click-through rate (up from 0%)
  • Average position: 21.1 — meaning they were appearing on page 2-3 of Google and still driving traffic

But the number that actually matters for their business:

15+ qualified form submissions per month. That's up from roughly one inquiry every two months from online channels.

These aren't random contacts. These are people who searched Google for a limousine service, found their website, read about what they offer, and decided to reach out. High-intent leads — and zero per-click ad spend.

More direct phone calls too, and the owner described the quality of leads as very high. People who were serious about booking, not tire-kickers.

What This Looks Like for Your Business

The same approach works for any local service business:

  • Restaurants and food businesses — people searching "lunch in Gilroy" or "best tamales in Hollister" can find you
  • Service contractors — plumbers, electricians, HVAC, cleaners who want customers searching "[service] near me" to call them
  • Professional services — lawyers, dentists, therapists, accountants competing for local clients
  • Retail shops — capturing local shoppers before they go to Amazon
  • Transportation and hospitality — exactly what Limo Scene LLC proved works

The Central Coast is a great market for local SEO because most businesses here haven't invested in it properly yet. That creates an opportunity — businesses that rank now have a real advantage, and that advantage compounds over time as rankings build.

How Long Does It Take?

In Limo Scene's case, results were measurable within one quarter. That's not always the case — it depends on the industry, how competitive the local market is, how much content the site has, and the starting point.

Generally:

  • Month 1: Site launched, indexed, and submitted to Google
  • Month 2: First impressions and rankings start appearing
  • Month 3+: Traffic builds, leads start coming in

SEO is not a light switch — but for local businesses on the Central Coast, the timeline to meaningful results is usually 60–120 days with a properly built and optimized site.
