Web Design for Franklin, TN Businesses

Franklin has a historic downtown, an I-65 corridor and 76 landscaping businesses with employees in its ZIP codes. I build custom-coded websites for it, remotely from Hollister, California, at the same prices as everywhere else.

A design studio desk with a monitor showing a website, and golden hills outside the window.
  • Remote work: video call, email and text
  • One national price list, no per-city quote
  • In business since 2020
  • We respond within 24 hours

Two different places to be found in Franklin

  • Visitors who don't know you

Historic Downtown Franklin fills up for events. Dickens of a Christmas, held in the second week of December, draws roughly 50,000 visitors, according to Wikipedia. Many of them are searching for a place to eat or shop, and they want your hours, menu and parking as text on the page.

  • A crowded landscaping trade

Williamson County has 143 landscaping businesses with employees, and 76 of them are in Franklin's ZIP codes. A landscaper whose site is a logo and a phone number looks like every other one in the results.

  • No state home improvement license to point to

Williamson is not one of the counties where Tennessee requires a home improvement license. If you hold a Tennessee contractor license, which applies to projects of $25,000 or more, saying so on the site tells a customer something the county doesn't.

What a Franklin customer finds on your site

A landscaper's site opens on finished work, then splits into pages for each kind of job: beds and mulch, irrigation, patios and walls, lawn care. Each page names the parts of Williamson County you work in. The form asks for the address and the scale of the project, so you can say yes, no or not yet in one reply.

A downtown shop or restaurant gets something smaller. Hours, a map link, the menu or product list as text, a page about what is special and a contact form. Search Console and Analytics are set up at launch, so you see what people searched before they found you.

How a Franklin build goes

Estimated timeline Usually 2 to 3 weeks once I have your content

A landscaper's gallery photos are what take longest to gather. I quote the timeline with the scope.

  1. Step 1: Tell me about the business

Fill in the short form. It takes about a minute. I ask what you sell and where in Williamson County you work. I reply within 24 hours.

    Day 1

  2. Step 2: I plan the pages

You get a page list: one page for each kind of job, and a place for your license number if you hold one. For a downtown shop, the list stays short.

    Week 1

  3. Step 3: I build it, you review it

I send a link. You look at it on your phone, send me your changes and I make them. We can talk on video if that is faster.

    Weeks 1 to 3

  4. Step 4: Launch, then keep going

I set up Search Console and Analytics, submit the sitemap and go live. On Essential, the monthly work starts: updates, a weekly report and new content.

    Launch, then every month

Franklin in numbers

The Census Bureau estimated Franklin at 89,142 people on July 1, 2024, up 6.7% from 83,548 in April 2020. Williamson County had 272,061 residents on July 1, 2025, after adding 3,575 in the year. That was the seventh-largest gain in Tennessee, according to the Tennessee State Data Center. Franklin is the county seat, about 21 miles south of downtown Nashville.

In the ZIP codes 37064, 37067 and 37069, the Census counted 76 landscaping businesses with employees in 2023, 54 HVAC, plumbing and electrical businesses (30 plumbing and HVAC, 24 electrical) and 10 roofing businesses. ZIP areas aren't city limits, and one-person shops without payroll aren't counted.

Landscaping first, then the other trades

Landscaping is the biggest trade in Franklin's ZIP codes, so I'd start there. These are plans, not past clients.

  • A landscaper with a separate page for design and installation and another for maintenance. They are different buyers: one wants a quote for a project, the other wants a weekly crew.
  • An electrician or HVAC contractor who works on older buildings. Franklin has five historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places, and city ordinances protect many older buildings. A page that explains how you work in them answers a question those customers are likely to have.
  • A plumber with a repair page that puts the phone number first and an install page that puts the form first.

Williamson County and the license rules

The Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors lists nine counties where the home improvement license applies: Bradley, Davidson, Hamilton, Haywood, Knox, Marion, Robertson, Rutherford and Shelby. Williamson isn't on the list. A contractor license is still required for projects of $25,000 or more. The Board's page doesn't tell me what a county or city might ask for beyond that, such as permits or a local business license, and I haven't checked Franklin's.

That changes what a Franklin site can honestly say. If you hold a contractor license, show the number. If you do smaller residential jobs and don't need a state license, don't suggest you have one. I read the Board's pages on October 23, 2026. Confirm your own situation with the Board and the city.

Downtown Franklin and the festival calendar

Franklin Square and the downtown district host the Main Street Festival and the December Dickens event. For a downtown restaurant or shop, that is a reason for a Starter site with event-week hours written at the top of the home page and a contact form for catering or group bookings.

A site like that should load fast on a phone standing in the street, because that is how many visitors will look you up.

Working with a builder in California

I'm based in Hollister, California, with no Franklin office or address. Everything needed to build your site moves by email, text or video call. If you want to see the work-in-progress, I send a link.

One result, from a California client

  • 15 to 20 a month

Quote requests through Limo Scene's site form in August and September 2026 (Google Analytics), after its new domain started at zero in Search Console on April 30, 2026. Limo Scene is a California transportation company, not a Tennessee one. It is one client, and I can't promise your numbers.

Questions people ask

Do you meet in person in Franklin?

No. I'm based in Hollister, California, and I work remotely by video call, email and text. A website doesn't need an in-person meeting. You send photos and details, I send drafts, and you tell me what to change.

Does Franklin have a different license rule from Nashville?

On the state's home improvement license, yes. The Board lists Davidson County but not Williamson, so a Franklin contractor doing a small residential job isn't under that rule. The $25,000 contractor license applies in both. Ask the Board and the city about permits.

I run a shop downtown. Do I need more than a Starter site?

Probably not at first. Starter is $2,000 one time for 1 location, 5 pages: home, about, contact, gallery or menu, and FAQ. If you add online ordering or more pages, you can move up to Essential later without starting over.

My landscaping business is in Franklin but I take jobs in Brentwood too. How do I show that?

Name both on one site, with a line about the areas you cover on each service page. Keep one Google Business Profile with a service area. You don't need a separate site for a nearby town.
