Web Design for Hendersonville, TN Businesses
Hendersonville is the biggest city in Sumner County, 18 miles northeast of downtown Nashville, and a good share of its area is lake. I build fast, custom-coded websites for its businesses, remotely from Hollister, California.

What a steadier lake town needs from a website
Most customers already live here
Hendersonville grew 3.5% between April 2020 and July 2024, a lot slower than Lebanon or Mt. Juliet. Most of your customers already own a house here and already have some idea who to call. They look you up to check you out, so reviews and a clear service area matter.
The lake changes the work
Water covers about 17% of the city's total area, by the Census Bureau's area figures, and the Old Hickory Dam, finished in 1954, brought recreation seekers and second homes to the lake. A waterfront lot needs different work from a subdivision lot, and your site can say which kind of job you take.
No state home improvement license to point to
Sumner isn't one of the nine Tennessee counties where the home improvement license applies. If you hold a contractor license, which covers projects of $25,000 or more, showing the number tells a customer something the county doesn't.
What a Hendersonville customer finds on your site
A repair page for the call that can't wait, an estimate page for the job that can, and a form short enough to finish on a phone. A roofer's page names the kind of roof and asks what happened. A landscaper's page starts with finished yards and ends with a request for the address.
After launch, Search Console and Analytics show which pages bring requests in. The weekly report on the Essential plan puts that in your inbox, so you don't have to log in to see it.
How a Hendersonville build goes
Estimated timeline Usually 2 to 3 weeks once I have your content
Photos of finished jobs are the part that takes the longest. I quote the timeline with the scope.
Step 1: Tell me about the business
Fill in the short form. It takes about a minute. I ask what you sell and which parts of Sumner County you cover. I reply within 24 hours.
Day 1
Step 2: I plan the pages
You get a page list: one page for each kind of job. If you work on the lake, that gets a page of its own.
Week 1
Step 3: I build it, you review it
I send a link you open on your phone. You tell me what to change by reply, text or a short video call.
Weeks 1 to 3
Step 4: Launch, then keep going
Search Console and Analytics go in, the sitemap is submitted and the site goes live. On Essential, the monthly work starts: updates, reports and new content.
Launch, then every month
Hendersonville in numbers
The Census Bureau estimated Hendersonville at 63,947 people on July 1, 2024. The April 2020 estimates base was 61,786, a gain of 3.5%. Sumner County had 215,538 residents on July 1, 2025 after adding 3,357 in the year, the ninth-largest gain among Tennessee counties, according to the Tennessee State Data Center.
Hendersonville was incorporated in 1969 and sits on State Route 386 and US 31E. In ZIP code 37075, the Census counted 40 HVAC, plumbing and electrical businesses with employees in 2023 (23 plumbing and HVAC, 17 electrical), 29 landscaping businesses and 13 roofing businesses. Those counts leave out businesses with no employees.
Three Hendersonville trades, and the site I'd plan
These are plans, not past clients. Roofing has a real pool here, 13 businesses in one ZIP code, so it gets a place along with the others.
- A roofer with separate pages for repair and replacement, a license number in the footer if you hold one, and an estimate form that asks the roof type and what happened.
- A landscaper whose pages split lakefront from standard residential work. Different sites, different problems, different photos.
- An HVAC or plumbing company that serves Hendersonville and the towns around it. A page for each kind of call and a line for the areas you cover, listed by name.
The license rules in Sumner County
The Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors lists nine counties where a home improvement license applies to residential work from $3,000 to $24,999. Sumner isn't one of them. A contractor license is required for projects of $25,000 or more, and for roofing or HVAC subcontractors working under another contractor when their share reaches that amount.
That doesn't say anything about permits or a city business license in Hendersonville, which I haven't checked. I read the Board's pages on October 23, 2026. Confirm your own situation with the Board and the city.
Indian Lake, downtown and the arts
Hendersonville's Indian Lake Village is a mixed-use area anchored by The Streets of Indian Lake, an outdoor lifestyle center with retailers, restaurants and a cinema. It also holds a farmers market and a summer concert series. The Hendersonville Arts Council operates from Monthaven Mansion, a pre-Civil War house.
A shop, restaurant or studio in that kind of district needs a Starter site that keeps hours and event dates current and points to its own page, not just to the shopping center's listing.
Working with a builder in California
I'm based in Hollister, California, and I have no Hendersonville office or address. The work is video calls, email and text. If a lake home or a job site is what you want to show, phone photos and a few short clips do it.
One result, from a California client
15 to 20 a month
Quote requests through Limo Scene's site form in August and September 2026 (Google Analytics), after its new domain started at zero in Search Console on April 30, 2026. Limo Scene is a California transportation company, not a Tennessee one. It is one client, and I can't promise your numbers.

Questions people ask
Do you meet in person in Hendersonville?
No. I'm based in Hollister, California, and the work is remote. We use video calls, email and text. You can show me a job site or a lake lot with your phone camera.
My business is on the lake. Should that be its own page?
If lake work is a real part of what you do, yes. A lakefront customer is searching for something different from a subdivision customer, and a page that speaks to them says so. If you only take the occasional lakefront job, a paragraph on a service page is enough.
Does Sumner County need a home improvement license for small jobs?
The Board for Licensing Contractors lists nine counties where that license applies, and Sumner is not one of them. The $25,000 contractor license rule is statewide. I haven't checked Hendersonville's permits or business license rules, so ask the city and the Board.
I serve Hendersonville and Gallatin. One site or two?
One. Name both towns, keep one Google Business Profile with a service area, and give each town a sentence that says how you work there. A second site would split your reviews and search history.
