A simple website for your restaurant, cafe or shop

Five pages: your menu or photos, hours, address and a way to call or write. From $2,000, usually live in about a week once I have your photos and details.

What a missing or messy site costs a restaurant or shop

  • People check the menu and hours on their phone first

If the menu is a PDF that opens too small, or the hours are from last year, they pick the place that has it right.

  • A social page is rented space

Facebook and Instagram are good for posts. A site with your menu, hours and address as plain text is yours, and Google can read every word of it.

  • A website sounds like a big project

You do not need 25 pages. You need five good ones, live this month, at a price that does not need a business plan.

What a visitor can do on your site

Look at the menu or your products, see today's hours, tap to call, tap for directions, read a few lines about who you are, and send you a message. That is the whole job, and a Starter site does it quickly, on a phone, without making anyone pinch and zoom.

You'll be surprised at how quick and how thorough the work is. I'm a software engineer and AI native, and a Starter site is built to be live in about a week once I have your photos and details.

How it works

Estimated timeline Usually about a week once I have your photos, menu and details

Anything larger is a full build, usually 2 to 3 weeks once I have your content.

  1. Step 1: Tell me about the place

Fill in the short form. It takes about a minute. I ask what you sell, where you are, and who comes in. I reply within 24 hours.

    Day 1

  2. Step 2: Send me the basics

Photos, your menu or product list, your hours and address, and a few lines about the business. You can send them after a short chat or through the form.

    Whenever you can

  3. Step 3: I build it, you look it over

I build the five pages and send you a working version. You tell me what to change.

    About a week

  4. Step 4: Pick how it's hosted

Hand it off to host yourself, keep it on Wix or Squarespace, or have me host it. The choices and prices are below.

    Before launch

What's in a Starter site

  • Five pages

Home, about, contact, gallery or menu, and FAQ. It is the lowest-cost way to get a site built and running.

  • Menu or gallery page

For restaurants and cafes it doubles as the menu, in text. Shops use it for products, work or the space.

  • Local SEO basics

Page titles, headings and your address and hours set up so Google can match you to people nearby.

  • Mobile-first and fast

Menu, hours and address are plain text on pages that load quickly on a phone.

  • Contact form and analytics

A short form that sends to you, plus Google Analytics and Search Console so you can see who found you.

  • Custom-coded or Wix or Squarespace

Same price either way. Custom-coded and mobile-first, or built on Wix or Squarespace if you want to edit it yourself.

What the five pages hold for a restaurant or cafe

Almost everyone who opens a restaurant site is on a phone and wants the same three things: the menu, the hours and how to get there. The five pages are built around that.

  • Home: what you serve, where you are, today's hours, and call and directions buttons at the top.
  • Menu: written as text on the page, not a PDF, so it loads fast and Google can read it. A Spanish and English menu fits on the same page.
  • Contact: address, map, phone and a short form for catering or event questions.
  • About: a few lines and a photo of who runs the place.
  • FAQ: parking, reservations, dietary options, catering. The questions you answer all day, answered once.
  • Ordering: I link out to the system you already use, such as Toast, Square, ChowNow or DoorDash, instead of building one.

And for a shop

The gallery page shows your products, your work or your space. Hours, address and a phone number sit on every page. If you later want to sell online, a Shopify store is a separate build, and Shopify builds start at $3,000.

What it costs

One price for the build, whether it is custom-coded or on Wix or Squarespace, and the same for a restaurant, a cafe or a shop. After the build, you choose how the site is hosted. The first month is included if I host it.

Questions people ask

How much does a Starter website cost?

A Starter website is from $2,000 one time, whether it is custom-coded or built on Wix or Squarespace. The price is the same for every kind of business, whether you run a restaurant, a cafe or a shop. After the build you choose how it is hosted. Hosting through me is $150/mo after the first month.

Do I have to pay you every month?

No. After the build you pick one of three. Hand-off: I give you the finished site and help move it to your own hosting. Nothing monthly from me. Wix or Squarespace: I build it there so you can edit it yourself. They bill you directly, never marked up. I host it: the first month is included, then $150/mo, month to month, for hosting plus 2 hours of support a month.

How long does it take?

Usually live within about a week once I have your photos, menu and details. That depends on how quickly the content gets to me, so I don't promise a date up front.

What do I need to give you?

Photos, your menu or product list, your hours and address, and a few lines about your business. You can send them after a short chat or through the form.

Can the gallery page be my menu?

Yes. For restaurants and cafes the gallery page doubles as the menu page, written as text rather than a PDF. Shops and other businesses use it for photos of their products, work or space.

Can the menu be in English and Spanish?

Yes, on the same page. A separate full Spanish version of the whole site is a bigger job and is not part of a Starter site.

Can customers order online through the site?

A Starter site links to the ordering system you already use, such as Toast, Square, ChowNow or DoorDash. I don't build ordering into it. If you want a store of your own, a Shopify build starts at $3,000.

Do I own my website?

Yes. On a custom-coded Starter site you own all the content and design. If you ever move to another host, I'll help with the transition. A site built on Wix or Squarespace is on their platform, under your plan with them.

What if I need more than five pages later?

You can add pages to a Starter site, or move up to the Essential plan at $300/mo for SEO upkeep, reporting and content. If you later want online ordering or a store, I can build that too.

Is Starter enough to show up on Google?

It gets the basics right: clear page titles, your address and hours, and Search Console so you can see how you are doing. It does not include ongoing SEO work or Google Business Profile setup, which is an add-on, and nobody can honestly guarantee where you will rank. If you want the ongoing work, that is the Essential plan.
